Life in and around my "nest"

I spent most of yesterday close to my nest -- that's what Jack calls the collection of pillows and cushions  I've assembled on the couch by the west window. I suppose I was tired after the exertion of getting a new cast -- and the horror of viewing my incision!  But I was by no means idle -
I read the paper,

answered emails,
and became vertical to do some much needed mending

Once "up" I attended to daily tasks such as "gardening"

Please send basil recipes, this plant is overtaking the house - it's inside because of the hot weather on the deck.

And helped with food preparation - "cooking" is Jack's responsibility

I also do laundry - but didn't need to yesterday.

"Scootering"has been quite painful because the top edge of my cast has been digging into my knee,  even with a cushion.  But Jack made me a wedge out of a section of a swim-noodle, and this has made moving about much more comfortable.

Maybe I'll go for a "walk" today.
